A day filled of fun and games does not necessarily require spending money. There are a variety of free games for kids available, including online games, outdoor recreation, and coloring and activities that are available to download from the internet. Free kids games provide a great deal of entertainment for a day spent outside in the sun or a day spent inside avoiding the bad weather. Some of the free games for kids that can be played outdoors include hopscotch, tag, duck goose, and red light green light. In order to play the game tag all you need is a group of friends and a large yard to play in. One person will be ‘it’. It is that persons job to chase everyone else and try to tag them. The person that they tag then becomes ‘it’. The game duck, duck goose is just as simple and just as fun as tag. All of the kids sit in a large circle and one person is ‘it’. The kid who is ‘it’ walks around the circle and taps each person on the head and says whether that person is a ‘duck’ or a ‘goose’. When a kid is called a ‘goose’ the ‘goose’ has to stand up and chase the kid who is ‘it’ around the circle and try to tag him/her before he/she can sit in the ‘gooses’ spot.

If it is raining and not a nice day out there are free games for kids that can be played inside. These games include thumbs up, seven up and hide and seek. Hide and seek is one of the most popular free games for kids. It can be played with two or more people and can keep you entertained for hours. Like in tag on individual is named ‘it’. That individual will sit in a corner, close their eyes and count to an agreed upon number (usually 50 or 100). When the person who is ‘it’ reaches that number they then go searching for the other players, who will be hiding in the most difficult spot that they were able to find. The first player that is found then becomes the seeker. Free kids games can vary based on the season. For instance, free kids games that can be played in the winter include large scale snowball fights or name that holiday tune. Name that holiday tune is a free game for kids in which one person either draws pictures or acts out the title of a holiday song. All of the other players will try to guess the song title.
